dimensional-drawing: turn a UI component into an Apple-style spec sheet (GitHub)

An agent skill that draws your card or dialog as a one-page technical drawing with paddings, gaps, corner radii and layers measured and labelled, and it can animate the drawing too. Created on 23 October and already past 750 stars.

How to start install it in your coding agent and point it at one existing component, then compare the measurements with your design file.

The big story

Video editing is moving into the chat box and the coding agent. CapCut's ChatGPT plugin announcement from Saturday has passed 1.4 million views on X: you start an idea in ChatGPT, the plugin builds a draft video, and you finish it in CapCut's web editor. CapCut's video promises an open beta in November, and TechieXpert reports that early access already works in the ChatGPT desktop app on PC.

The same shift showed up in how people talk about Kling 4. The most-saved how-tos in our sweep were about editing an existing clip and steering one shot with ten keyframes, not about generating from scratch. On the local side, MiniMax H3 users shipped fixes for long chains that soften over time and for reloading the model between runs.

How this edition was made

Sweep window: about 6 AM PT on Oct 25 to 6 AM PT on Oct 26, 2026. Items marked ⏪ are a little older (Oct 21–24) and are here because they were still spreading in this window. Sources searched: X (the X posts gathered for this edition, each re-read by ID), YouTube search (uploads from the last day), GitHub trending (daily) and the GitHub API, Hugging Face trending models and Spaces, Product Hunt, Hacker News, the public top-of-day feeds for r/StableDiffusion, r/midjourney and r/singularity (the other subreddits rate-limited our tools, so they are not covered), and web search for blogs and news. Every link was checked live on Oct 26. Engagement numbers are public counts at that moment and will change. Reddit feeds don't include vote counts, so no Reddit numbers appear here. Repeats from earlier editions appear only in the updates section, with what changed.

The story of the day

From generate to edit

For most of this year, AI video meant writing a prompt, rolling the dice and starting over when a detail was wrong. This weekend's most useful posts pushed the other way. A Magnific tutorial shows Kling 4.0 adding objects to a video you already have while the character and camera move stay put. Another creator points out that Kling 4 accepts up to ten keyframes across a 30-second shot and fills them from one Nano Banana grid. A Claude Code motion setup treats a whole piece as a project that can be changed shot by shot. CapCut's ChatGPT plugin fits the pattern: the chat makes a draft, and a real timeline is where you fix it. CapCut hasn't shared pricing, plans or regions yet.

Making local video hold together

MiniMax H3 has become the video model many local users build around, and its weak spot is length. Every continued clip starts from the tail of the last one, so detail drains away. The Clown Context Suite gives each clip a target end point as well as a start. A new ZeroCopy continuity node arrived the same day, and tutorials now cover 4K output on a 6 GB card and the faster FastH3 Omni. Anyone using the RTX 30-series unlock should also read Lodestone's advice to lower the power limit.

Design skills keep compounding

The design-skill wave for coding agents is still growing. impeccable is at 88,482 stars and hallmark passed 35,000, and new single-purpose skills keep landing. dimensional-drawing turns a UI component into an Apple-style measured drawing, and lantern makes step-through animated code explainers. One designer's current flow sums up the mood: prototype in Claude Code, try to break it, then polish and document in Figma.

The rights question doesn't go away

Music is where the legal pressure is sharpest. Reservoir's suits against Suno and Anthropic, filed on 21 October, keep circulating, and a creator walkthrough of Suno's new terms asks whether users can still release their own songs. In code, a Hacker News thread on r/opensource banning LLM-built projects shows the same argument about what counts as real work.

Tell us what to dig into next: reply with a medium, a tool or a question and we'll steer tomorrow's sweep toward it.
